Со Всемирным днём защиты китов и дельфинов
Всемирный день защиты китов и дельфинов отмечается 23 июля 2020 года. Это экологический праздник. Его цель – привлечь внимание общественности к исчезновению этих млекопитающих животных. Всемирный день защиты китов и дельфин учредила Международная китобойная комиссия (МКК) в 1986 году. Дата праздника имеет символическое значение. 23 июля 1982 года МКК вынесла на голосование вопрос о запрете на ловлю китов. Запрет на китобойный промысел означает, что охота на китов и дельфинов, которые классифицируются как зубатые киты, их отлов с целью продажи живого млекопитающего или его мяса является незаконным.
В разных странах мира 23 июля проводятся демонстрации и акции в защиту млекопитающих обитателей океанов и морей. Звезды шоу-бизнеса устраивают благотворительные концерты и выступления в поддержку МКК. Газеты, журналы, телеканалы и радиостанции освещают статистику истребления китообразных.
Япония, формально соглашаясь с международным договором о запрете охоты на китов, продолжает их добычу под видом научных изысканий. После завершения научных работ мясо часто используется в промышленных целях. Россия также не соблюдает конвенцию. В столичных ресторанах встречается мясо кита. Проявляет интерес к промыслу морских млекопитающих и Корея. Норвегия и Исландия изначально не поддержали запрет и открыто продолжают охоту.

World whale and Dolphin day is celebrated on July 23, 2020. This is an ecological holiday. Its purpose is to draw public attention to the Fact that on February 19, another international holiday is celebrated annually-the world day for the protection of marine mammals (whale Day).
World whale and Dolphin day was established by the international whaling Commission (IWC) in 1986. The date of the holiday has a symbolic meaning. Japan, formally agreeing to an international Treaty banning the hunting of whales, continues their production under the guise of scientific research. After completing scientific research, meat is often used for industrial purposes. Russia also does not comply with the Convention. In the capital's restaurants, you can find whale meat. Korea is also interested in fishing for marine mammals. Norway and Iceland initially did not support the ban and openly continue hunting.
