С ДНЁМ ДАВИДА ЗЕМЛЯНИЧНИКА....On the day of David Strawberry



С днём Давида Земляничника 

Народный праздник Давид Земляничник отмечается 9 июля 2020 года (дата по старому стилю – 26 июня). Верующие православной церкви этого числа вспоминают святого Давида Солунского (Фессалоникийского), отшельника. В народе его прозвали «Земляничником» в честь обычая собирать в этот день созревшую землянику.
₽Давид Солунский родился в Месопотамии между 450 и 460 годами. С юных лет он изучал святые писания и служил Богу. Прибыв в Фессалоники (старославянское название города – Солунь), Давид стал монахом Кукуллатского монастыря. Он подражал святым столпникам, потому три года провел на миндальном дереве. Когда получил знамение свыше, перебрался в отдельно стоящую хижину, в которой прожил примерно 70 лет.
За строгую отшельническую жизнь Господь даровал ему силу видеть будущее и совершать чудеса. Из жилища святого изливался божественный свет, посмотреть на который приходили многие горожане.
Когда Давид пришел к императору, чтобы передать прошение от фессалоникийцев о переносе административного центра, он взял в руки угли, разжег их на руке и удерживал до тех пор, пока не получил согласие правителя. Вернувшись, отшельник попрощался с друзьями, помолился и предал душу Господу.
В этот праздник люди собирают землянику. Эта лесная ягода имеет не только приятный вкус, но и целебные свойства. Землянику применяют при лечении анемии, язв, заболеваний почек, печени, мочевого пузыря и для общего укрепления организма. Листья добавляют в чай холодной зимой, чтобы укрепить иммунную систему.
Если в этот день идет дождь, то такая погода установится до осени. Если ясно и тепло, то до конца лета небо будет безоблачным.
Если день жаркий, то в течение сорока дней продержится палящая засуха, прохлада придет лишь в сентябре.
Если день засушливый, то грибы появятся в лесу только к осени.
Рассада хорошо впитывает влагу – ближайшие дни будут сухими. Если земля остается влажной, то скоро пойдут дожди.
Если ягод земляники много, то зима будет холодной.
Земляника созрела – срок сева овса прошел.
Свиньи или мыши грызут сухую траву – сенокос будет неудачным.
Чтобы люди согласились одолжить денег в этот день, нужно взять с собой стебельки земляники.

On the day of David Strawberry
The national holiday of David the Strawberry is celebrated on July 9, 2020 (the date according to the old style is June 26). Believers of the Orthodox Church of this number remember Saint David of Thessalonica, a hermit. The people called it "strawberry" in honor of the custom to collect ripe strawberries on this day.
₽David of Thessalonica was born in Mesopotamia between 450 and 460 years. From a young age, he studied the Holy Scriptures and served God. Arriving in Thessalonica (Slavic name of the city – Thessalonica), David became a monk of the monastery Cucullata. He imitated the Holy Stylites, so he spent three years on the almond tree. When he received a sign from above, he moved to a detached hut, where he lived for about 70 years.
During his strict hermit life, the Lord gave him the power to see the future and perform miracles. From the dwelling of the Saint, divine light poured out, which many citizens came to see.
When David went to the Emperor to deliver a request from the Thessalonians for the transfer of the administrative center, he took the coals in his hands, lit them on his hand and held them until he received the consent of the ruler. When the hermit returned, he said goodbye to his friends, prayed, and gave his soul to the Lord.
On this holiday, people collect strawberries. This forest berry has not only a pleasant taste, but also healing properties. Strawberries are used in the treatment of anemia, ulcers, kidney, liver, and bladder diseases and for General strengthening of the body. Leaves are added to tea in cold winter to strengthen the immune system.
If it rains on this day, then this weather will be established until autumn. If it is clear and warm, the sky will be cloudless until the end of summer.
If the day is hot, then the scorching drought will last for forty days, the coolness will come only in September.
If the day is dry, the mushrooms will appear in the forest only in the fall.
Seedlings absorb moisture well – the next few days will be dry. If the ground remains wet, it will rain soon.
If there are a lot of strawberries, then the winter will be cold.
Strawberries are ripe – the time for sowing oats has passed.
Pigs or mice gnaw dry grass – haymaking will be unsuccessful.
In order for people to agree to lend money on this day, you need to take strawberry stalks with you.
